RAK FTZ allows its clients to register their business in the following four ways:

RAK FTZ issues the following types of license options for business setup.

As a Free Zone Establishment (FZE): Ideal for start-ups with just one owner
As a Free Zone Company: Ideal for start-ups with more than 2 partners (limited to 5)
As a Local Branch: Should be a branch-out of a parent company in the UAE that has been in operation for one year or more
As a Foreign Branch: Should be a branch-out of a parent company based outside the UAE and that has been in operation for one year or more
Licenses issued by the RAK FTZ
RAK FTZ requires the companies in its jurisdiction to obtain trade or business license before undertaking any activity, whether commercial, industrial or service. The license issued by RAK FTZ is subject to yearly renewal, for which the company should submit their audit reports.

RAK FTZ Offers Four Types of Business Licenses:

RAK FTZ issues the following types of license options for business setup.

Commercial License: Issued for activities such as export/import and warehousing/distribution. Usually it is issued in 2 – 3 working days.
General Trading License: Issued for activities such as export/import and warehousing/distribution. Usually it is issued in 2 – 3 working days.
Consultancy/Services License: Issued for all kinds of services-related activities such as logistics, management, etc. Usually it is issued in 2 – 3 working days.
Industrial License: Issued for activities such as manufacturing, import of unfinished goods and export of finished goods, assembling, packaging, etc. Usually it takes around 2 -3 weeks to process this type of license.

Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority (DAFZA)
Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority (DAFZA) offers investors three different types of free zone company formation that can be set up at their premises. Each offers different options and benefits matching specific business requirements.

Clients can choose from:
Free Zone Establishment (FZE)
Formed with one shareholder, either individual or a company. The minimum capital requirement depends on the activity.

Free Zone Company (FZCO)

Company Formation:
Setting up a new business in Dubai Airport Free zone is sometimes very challenging for the novice. Although the authorities aim at making the process of applying, registering and licensing as easy as possible, it is better to take the help of an authorized company registration agent. Provided all legal documents and bank account are complete, the entire process should not take longer than 4 weeks.

The primary step is to complete and submit the application form to DAFZA, following which a few documents have to be submitted to the Sales Department which will be reviewed by the committee for initial acceptance. After obtaining initial approval, which will take approximately 7 to 10 working days, allocation of the facilities will be given, followed by the invoice and lease agreement.

After making the payment, the clients will need to submit the legal documents to the Lease and Licensing Department and the layout and interior design to the Interior Design Department.
Once all the legal documents are submitted and payment completed, the license will be issued.
